Ever since ancient times, humans have invented tools and given birth to culture, turning once impossible dreams into reality through the power of technology.
We have progressed from the land, to the seas, and from the skies to space, and have used the bio-signal revolution to transcend communication barriers.
MELTIN uses cyborg technology to transcend the physical limitations of our bodies and aims for the creation of a society in which humans can unleash the true potential of their creativity.

The source of creativity is in our hands

Our hands are our most important limb and have allowed us to physically manifest our creativity.
Humans use their hands to design things, cook food,paint, and play music. Hands are the source of our culture.
MELTIN’s first goal when it set about developing cyborg technology was to recreate the hand, the most intricate portion of our bodies.
By developing a cyborg hand that had the same functionality as a human hand, but of a variety that has never been seen before in the world, we will transcend limitations related to distance in a way that no human has yet been able to.

Raising the curtains on a new stage of civilization

Until now, the development of human civilization has been based around the technologies used to construct our many forms of infrastructure. In other words, we’ve been supported by technologies that have allowed us to change the environment to suit human lifestyles.
However, environment-changing technologies are reaching a saturation point. We now need technologies that allow us to change our bodies to suit our environments.
MELTIN’s primary aim is to create a new form of evolution that can be felt at an individual level, as a culmination of our long history as a species.
This in itself will raise the curtains on a new stage of civilization.

This is the future history of humankind’s development that MELTIN will pioneer.

1.Tools

All of the tools that we have created as a species can be thought to be extensions of our body. Hand tools and heavy machinery extend the power of our arms. Horses, cars, and planes extend the power of our legs. Humans have changed nature itself to meet our needs, expanded our scope of travel, and decreased the limitations placed upon us by time itself. Our use of computers has also expanded our powers of memory and thinking.

2.Completion

Our hands are capable of complex, sensitive, and strong movements. They have allowed humans to create physical embodiments of their creativity and are thus the “ultimate” portions of our bodies. If humans could attach another hand to their bodies such that their physical form could be made complete, what kinds of creativity could be unleashed?

3.Remoteness

The cyborg technologies that MELTIN is developing will allow for remote work to be performed through “avatars”. This will allow humans to expand their scope of work to include dangerous environments such as the depths of the ocean, and outer space. Remote work that uses the functionality of our bodies will bring about a new industrial revolution and redefine humanity’s spatial and temporal limitations.

4.Expansion

In the near future, MELTIN will allow humans to improve the physical forms of their bodies as they like. This will allow us to do things like equip sensors that allow us to transcend our own 5 senses or digitize our minds to access networks throughout the world.

5.Diversity

By developing a variety of cyborg technologies, individuals will be able to choose the ideal forms of their bodies. These bodies may be able to change to match their environments or have other specialized functions, allowing humans to transcend their status as homo sapiens, and creating extra diversity amongst our physical forms.
